Peterson Farms is our parent company, and we are part of a large family business: owned, operated and founded by the Peterson family. Peterson Farms manages more than 25,000 acres across the state of Kentucky consisting of corn, wheat and soybeans, as well as the USDA certified 100% organic hemp used for CBD and CBG extraction by Kentucky Heritage Hemp.

Peterson Farms supplies over 80 distilleries with wheat and corn and notably has been the sole supplier of red wheat to Maker's Mark for over 40 years.

In 2015, after getting national attention as Top Producer, the Stanley Brothers, founders of one of the first, and largest CBD companies, approached Peterson Farms to partner with them in the emerging hemp industry.

This relationship started with Peterson Farms serving as an R&D partner and quickly grew into Peterson Farms becoming a production partner.

Following the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, and growing demand by consumers for the healing properties of CBD, Bill Peterson, a senior partner at Peterson Farms, led a team of engineers and scientists to start Kentucky Heritage Hemp — a USDA certified 100% organic CBD and CBG extraction and refinement facility.

In 2021, Bill recruited his sister Alice to run the daily operations, and Kentucky Heritage Hemp has continued to grow its national reputation as a provider of premium quality cannabinoid products. Those products now include organic CBD/CBG isolates, distillates, extracts, biomass, custom formulations and private/white label finished product lines. CLICK HERE to learn more about our products.

MEET OUR FAMILY

I’m proud of you boys for all your awards and accomplishments, but what I’m most pleased about is that you all get along.”

  -William B. Peterson

The Kentucky Heritage Hemp business was built on strong core values. First and foremost is our focus on quality. Our grandfather used to always say, “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” There are no corners cut in our operation. Integrity, truth and transparency are also at the top of our values list. Additionally, we’re a resourceful bunch - which goes hand-in-glove with our commitment to sustainability and ecology. Our ability to innovate is another natural outcome of being resourceful. None of this would matter if we weren’t consistently achieving our goals. All of us are keenly and continuously focused on excellent outcomes.

These values are not just words on our conference room wall. We live them every day. And one more thing. FAMILY. It’s not just about being related to one another. Our operation includes spouses, children, and a very close association of neighbors and friends, all of whom are like family. We inherited, and we work hard to maintain, a family culture. As our family has transitioned to new generations of leaders, we know that our success and continuity has depended on pulling everyone to a unified vision and living the values that have become our strong culture.
